Hi Ladies,

I can’t say enough positive words about today’s training! You both did a fabulous job presenting the material in a real life, easy to follow manner. I feel much more confident about implementing Project Soar this year, knowing everything I possibly can about the program.

Also, it was reassuring to talk to the two of you and gain advice on how to best serve my students. Sometimes, I just need experts to confirm that I am on the right track.

A few topics that I shared with you today:

1.) Remind      https://www.remind.com/log_in

I love this app. I created an account and submitted all of my mentors’ phone numbers and/or email addresses. I can send out mass text messages to all of them, or just individually send out a text message and they can respond. I can do this from my phone app or log into Remind on my computer.

  • Your phone number is hidden. The mentors will never know your real phone number.
  • I often send out a friendly group text just to let them know I’m thinking about them.
  • Also, if I know of an assembly, or if the schedule has changed; I notify my mentors on Remind to let them know what’s going on so they do not waste their time.

2.) Donors Choose.org

Great site that gets the community and friends involved with donations. The website matched dollar for dollar the money that my friends and family donated. As a result, from all the donations and matching funds, I was able to get three chrome books for my classroom. It’s worth looking into.
